Buying workstations is only half the job. Panels, worksurfaces, pedestals and overhead storage arrive as parts, and someone has to turn those parts into a level, square, working office. Office Station prices that work the simple way: $95 per workstation, with a $495 minimum per project. No hourly meter, no vague "labor estimate" that grows on install day.
How installation pricing works
Your installation quote is your workstation count multiplied by $95. If that number lands below $495, the project minimum applies. That is the whole formula.
| Workstations | Calculation | Installation cost |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 3 x $95 = $285 | $495 (minimum) |
| 5 | 5 x $95 = $475 | $495 (minimum) |
| 6 | 6 x $95 | $570 |
| 12 | 12 x $95 | $1,140 |
| 25 | 25 x $95 | $2,375 |
| 60 | 60 x $95 | $5,700 |

The minimum kicks in at five stations or fewer. From six stations up, you pay the straight per-station rate.
What a full project looks like
Installation is one line on a budget that usually has three or four. Here is how a 12-station, 6'x6' workstation project in central Greater Phoenix adds up across the three furniture tiers.
| Line item | Liquidation-grade | Remanufactured | New |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furniture (12 x per-station price) | $7,380 | $14,940 | $23,040 |
| Installation (12 x $95) | $1,140 | $1,140 | $1,140 |
| Delivery, central Greater Phoenix | $195 | $195 | $195 |
| Space planning | Free | Free | Free |
| Subtotal before electrical | $8,715 | $16,275 | $24,375 |

Two things stand out. First, installation costs the same regardless of tier, so it is a bigger share of a liquidation-grade budget than a new one. Second, your electrical work is not in any of these numbers. Get that quote early.
If your order reaches 20 or more stations, volume pricing applies to workstations: 5% at 20+, 8% at 50+ and 12% at 100+.
What installation covers
A per-workstation install is about assembling furniture into the layout you approved. In practice that means:
- Unpacking and staging components by station
- Connecting panels and setting them plumb and level
- Mounting worksurfaces, returns and any overhead storage
- Placing pedestals and setting keyed locks if included
- Following the space plan so aisles and clearances match the drawing
- Removing packing material generated by the install
What is not included
Being clear about exclusions saves arguments later. The $95 rate does not include:
- Electrical. Powered panels need a licensed electrician to connect base feeds or poke-throughs to building power.
- Data and low-voltage cabling. Your IT or cabling vendor pulls and terminates network drops.
- Delivery. $195 central or $295 metro in Greater Phoenix; freight quoted per project elsewhere.
- Demolition or removal of existing furniture. If old furniture has to go first, that is a separate job. See office decommissioning.
Why space planning comes first
Every installation quote rests on a station count, and the station count comes from the layout. Office Station's space planning is free, so there is no reason to guess. A plan tells you how many 6'x6' stations fit once you account for aisles, egress paths, columns, conference rooms and storage walls. It also gives the install crew a drawing to follow, which is what keeps a large floor from drifting out of square.
Install day checklist
Most install delays have nothing to do with furniture. They come from access, building rules and timing. Work through this list before your crew arrives:
- Confirm the layout is final. Changes after panels are connected cost time.
- Clear the floor. Remove old furniture, boxes and anything in the install zone.
- Book the freight elevator and loading dock with building management for delivery and install hours.
- Ask about a certificate of insurance. Many commercial buildings require one from any vendor working on site.
- Check after-hours rules. If the office is occupied, ask whether nights or weekends are allowed.
- Mark floor boxes and power locations so panels line up with building power.
- Line up the electrician and IT vendor to follow the furniture crew.
- Name one on-site contact who can make layout decisions quickly.
Installing pre-owned and remanufactured furniture
Liquidation-grade and remanufactured workstations install the same way new ones do, and the per-station rate does not change. Office Station sells pre-owned furniture from brands like Herman Miller, Steelcase, Knoll and Haworth as an independent reseller, not an authorized dealer. That matters for one reason: manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture, so ask about condition grade (A like new, B very good, C good) before you order.
Lead time also shapes your install date. Liquidation-grade stock can be ready in as little as 72 hours, remanufactured usually takes 7 to 14 days, and new typically runs 4 to 6 weeks. Set your install date after you know which tier you are buying.
Professional install or do it yourself?
Self-installing can make sense for two or three simple, unpowered stations and a team comfortable with hardware. It rarely makes sense for powered panel systems, a floor of 20 or more stations, or anything with overhead storage that has to be mounted securely. At $95 per station, compare the quote with what your own staff time is worth, since hours spent reading assembly sheets are hours not spent on their real jobs.
Send your station count, address and target move-in date to hello@officestation.com, or start with a free space plan and let the layout set the number.
Frequently asked questions
How much does office furniture installation cost?
Professional installation is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum per project. A 10-station project is $950, and a 4-station project comes in at the $495 minimum. Delivery and electrical work are priced separately.
Does the installation price include electrical hookup?
No. Workstation prices and installation exclude electrical work. If your panels have powered base feeds or you need new circuits, plan on a licensed electrician to make the final connections to building power.
Do I have to buy installation to buy workstations?
No. Workstation prices are furniture-only, so installation is an add-on. Many teams with a small order and handy staff self-install, while larger or powered layouts usually justify a professional crew.
Is space planning really free?
Yes. Space planning is free when you are pricing workstations with Office Station. The layout is what determines your station count, which is what your installation quote is based on.
What does delivery cost?
In Greater Phoenix, delivery is $195 for central zones and $295 for the wider metro. Outside Greater Phoenix, freight is quoted per project based on your location and order size.
