Questions

Decommissioning FAQ

What is office decommissioning?

Decommissioning is returning leased space to the condition your lease requires: removing furniture, cabling, whiteboards, signage, appliances and IT equipment, coordinating any restoration work and handing the space back clean and documented.

When should decommissioning start?

Start planning 90 to 120 days before lease end. Review the surrender and restoration clauses, schedule the walkthrough, and book removal dates at least four weeks out to avoid rush costs.

Do you remove low-voltage cabling?

Yes. Abandoned data and low-voltage cabling removal is part of our decommissioning scope, which many landlords and fire codes require at lease end.

How do you handle computers and e-waste?

IT equipment and e-waste go to certified recycling partners, and data-bearing devices receive certificates of data destruction for your records.

Can decommissioning cost be offset by the furniture?

Yes. When furniture has resale value, it is credited against decommissioning costs in the same written offer.
