Pre-owned Knoll systems and seating

Used Knoll Furniture, Graded and Priced for Real Projects

Knoll workstations and chairs are built for long commercial service, which makes them a strong pre-owned buy. Here is how to judge condition, avoid compatibility headaches and make volume pricing work for you.

Designer office furniture

Knoll has a long track record in commercial workplaces, from panel-based workstation systems to modern desking and well-known task seating. Offices that bought Knoll usually bought it to last, so when those offices close or downsize, a lot of that furniture still has plenty of useful life.

Office Station sells pre-owned Knoll furniture as an independent reseller, not an authorized dealer. You get a clear condition grade, straightforward pricing and honest guidance on what will and will not work with the furniture you already own.

What used Knoll furniture typically includes

Pre-owned Knoll inventory arrives in lots, usually from office decommissioning and liquidation projects. Models and quantities change as projects come in, but most used Knoll falls into a few families:

  • Panel-based workstation systems. Knoll has produced several panel and systems lines over the years, including Dividends Horizon, Morrison and Currents. These are often sold as complete cubicle stations with panels, worksurfaces and storage.
  • Desking and benching. Open-plan lines such as Antenna Workspaces suit teams that want lower sightlines and shared spines.
  • Private office casegoods. Reff and similar lines show up as desks, returns, credenzas and storage from executive suites.
  • Task seating. Chairs such as Generation, ReGeneration, MultiGeneration and Life are common in office lots.
  • Tables and storage. Conference tables, lateral files and pedestals round out many lots.

Availability is never guaranteed. If you need a specific line, ask before you plan around it.

How we grade used Knoll furniture

Every piece gets one of three grades. Systems furniture and seating wear differently, so here is what each grade usually looks like for both.

GradeLabelWorkstations and casegoodsSeating
ALike newClean fabric panels, crisp laminate edges, no visible chipsClean upholstery, tight adjustments, little or no frame wear
BVery goodLight scuffs on trim or worksurface edges, fabric clean and intactLight wear on arms or base, fully functional mechanism
CGoodVisible wear, minor edge dings, sound structure and hardwareNoticeable wear on pads or upholstery, mechanism works

Grade B is the sweet spot for most open offices. Grade A makes sense for client-facing areas. Grade C stretches budgets for training rooms, call centers and back-office teams.

Compatibility checklist for adding to existing Knoll

Expanding an existing Knoll floor is one of the best uses of pre-owned inventory, as long as the parts actually fit. Before you order, gather the following:

  1. Product line name from labels under worksurfaces or on panel frames.
  2. Panel heights and widths measured on the frame, not the fabric.
  3. Connector style at panel junctions, with a close-up photo.
  4. Worksurface depth and bracket type, including any cantilever or support hardware.
  5. Power and data details, such as whether panels carry base power and how many circuits.
  6. Finish and fabric colors, so add-ons do not stand out from the rest of the floor.

If your existing furniture is a line or generation we cannot match, a complete set of matched pre-owned stations is often simpler than piecing parts together.

Pricing and volume discounts

For a standard 6'x6' workstation, furniture-only pricing looks like this across condition tiers:

OptionPrice per 6'x6' stationTypical lead time
Liquidation-grade$615As little as 72 hours when in stock
Remanufactured$1,245Usually 7 to 14 days
New$1,9204 to 6 weeks

Average market rate Prices subject to availability and project pricing.

Volume pricing applies on larger orders:

  • 5% off at 20 or more stations
  • 8% off at 50 or more stations
  • 12% off at 100 or more stations

As an example, 50 liquidation-grade stations at $615 come to $30,750 before discount. At 8% off, the furniture total is $28,290. Prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation. Installation runs $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum, and space planning is free. Greater Phoenix delivery is $195 for central zones and $295 for the wider metro. Elsewhere nationwide, freight is quoted per project.

What independent reseller means for warranty

Knoll is now part of MillerKnoll, and warranty terms are set by the manufacturer for original purchasers through its authorized channels. Manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. That is true of used Knoll from any independent source, so treat condition grade and inspection as your real protection.

For seating in particular, test the cylinder, tilt tension and arm adjustments on a sample chair. For systems, check that panel frames are straight, connectors are complete and worksurfaces sit level. You can compare Knoll chairs against other brands in our pre-owned office chairs catalog, or browse the wider pre-owned office furniture range.

Tips for a smooth used Knoll project

  • Lead with a floor plan. Free space planning helps confirm how many stations fit before you commit to a count.
  • Be flexible on fabric color. Large matched lots are easier to find when you accept a neutral range.
  • Coordinate electrical early. Powered panels still need a licensed electrician to connect to the building.
  • Order a few spares. Extra worksurfaces and connectors help when you reconfigure later.

Selling Knoll furniture from an office closing?

Quality systems furniture and seating can make an office closing pay for itself. In Office Station liquidation markets across the Southwest, you receive a written net offer: resale value minus removal cost. When that number is positive, you get paid. Walkthroughs typically happen within 48 hours in Greater Phoenix and 2 to 3 business days elsewhere, with offers within 5 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Is Office Station an authorized Knoll dealer?

No. Office Station is an independent reseller of pre-owned furniture and is not an authorized Knoll dealer. We grade used Knoll pieces A, B or C so you know what condition you are buying.

Does the Knoll warranty come with used furniture?

Manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. Plan your purchase around the condition grade and your own inspection rather than factory coverage.

Can I add used Knoll panels to the workstations I already have?

Sometimes, but only when the product line and generation match. Panel connectors, heights and worksurface brackets differ between systems, so send photos of your existing labels and hardware before you order add-on components.

How does volume pricing work on used Knoll workstations?

Volume pricing is 5% at 20 or more stations, 8% at 50 or more and 12% at 100 or more. Larger matched quantities depend on inventory, so the earlier you share your count and timeline, the better.

Do prices include installation?

No. Furniture prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation. Installation is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum, and space planning is free.

Average market rate Prices subject to availability and project pricing.
