Pre-owned Allsteel

Used Allsteel Furniture

Allsteel builds workstations, seating and storage meant for years of corporate use. Buying it pre-owned can cut the cost substantially, as long as you know exactly what you are getting and what you are not.

Designer office furniture

Allsteel is a name you see in a lot of corporate offices, from panel workstations to task chairs to steel storage. That track record in large installations is exactly why used Allsteel furniture shows up on the secondhand market: companies downsize, relocate or refresh, and well-built furniture outlasts the lease.

If you are shopping for pre-owned Allsteel, this page explains who you are buying from, how condition is graded, what the warranty situation really is, and how to avoid the compatibility mistakes that trip people up.

Who you are buying from

Office Station sells pre-owned designer furniture as an independent reseller. We are not an authorized Allsteel dealer, and we are not affiliated with the manufacturer. That distinction matters for three reasons:

  • Pricing. Pre-owned furniture is priced on its condition and the market, not on a manufacturer's list price.
  • Availability. Our inventory depends on what comes out of office projects. We cannot order a specific current Allsteel product in a custom finish from the factory as a pre-owned item.
  • Support. Manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned pieces, so you should buy based on the condition you can verify today.

Allsteel is one of several brands we source, alongside Herman Miller, Steelcase, Knoll, Haworth, Humanscale, Teknion, Kimball, AIS and Friant.

How we grade used Allsteel

Every pre-owned piece carries one of three grades. Here is what each means in practice, and where it usually fits.

GradeWhat it meansCommon use
A, like newMinimal to no visible wearExecutive areas, client-facing rooms, visible open-plan zones
B, very goodLight signs of use, fully functionalGeneral staff workstations and everyday seating
C, goodVisible wear from prior office use, structurally sound and workingBack-of-house teams, training rooms, storage areas

Grades apply to individual components. On a workstation, that means the work surface, panels, storage and frames can each be graded. Mixing grades by zone is one of the easiest ways to stretch a budget.

Pricing and lead times

Used Allsteel is quoted by product and grade. To give you a reliable reference point, here is our standard workstation pricing across tiers.

Tier6' x 6' workstation, furniture onlyTypical lead time
Liquidation-grade$615As little as 72 hours, in stock
Remanufactured$1,245Usually 7 to 14 days
New$1,9204 to 6 weeks

Average market rate Prices subject to availability and project pricing.

These prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation. Plan for these related costs:

  • Installation at $95 per workstation, with a $495 minimum.
  • Greater Phoenix delivery at $195 central or $295 metro. Freight elsewhere nationwide is quoted per project.
  • Volume pricing of 5% at 20 or more stations, 8% at 50 or more, and 12% at 100 or more.
  • Free space planning.

Adding to existing Allsteel furniture

The most common reason people search for used Allsteel is that they already have it. Expanding a department or replacing damaged parts with matching product is smart, but panel systems are not universal, even within one brand.

Before you order, gather this information:

  1. Product labels. Look under work surfaces, inside pedestal drawers and on the underside of chair seats. Photograph any label with a product name, model number or date.
  2. Panel heights and widths. Measure several panels, since offices often mix heights.
  3. Connection hardware. Photograph where two panels meet and where a work surface attaches.
  4. Power. Note whether panels carry built-in electrical and where the base feed enters.
  5. Finishes. Photograph fabric, laminate and paint in natural light. Finishes that look identical in a catalog can differ noticeably in person.

With that, we can tell you whether a match is realistic or whether a freestanding option will blend in better.

What to check on used Allsteel pieces

  • Workstations: straight, undamaged panel edges, intact fabric, all connectors and end caps present, work surface supports that are not bent.
  • Task chairs: smooth height and tilt adjustment, a cylinder that holds height, no cracks in the base or arms. See pre-owned office chairs.
  • Steel storage: drawers that roll fully and close square, working locks with keys, no dents on the fronts, anti-tip mechanisms that engage.
  • Tables and desks: flat tops, solid legs, intact edge banding and working height adjustment where equipped.

Selling your own Allsteel furniture

If you are on the other side of the equation, with an office full of Allsteel you no longer need, our office furniture liquidation service provides a written net offer: resale value minus removal cost. When the number is positive, you are paid. Walkthroughs typically happen within 48 hours in Greater Phoenix and within 2 to 3 business days in our other markets, with offers within 5 business days. You can get a first estimate with the liquidation estimator.

Frequently asked questions

Is Office Station an authorized Allsteel dealer?

No. Office Station is an independent reseller of pre-owned furniture, including Allsteel. We are not affiliated with or authorized by the manufacturer. We source used pieces, grade their condition and sell them directly to you.

Does the Allsteel warranty transfer when I buy used?

Generally no. Manufacturer warranties usually apply to the original purchaser and do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. We state each piece's condition grade up front so you can make the decision with accurate information.

Can I add used Allsteel to the Allsteel furniture I already own?

Often, but it depends on the product family and generation. Panel systems in particular need matching connectors, heights and components. Send photos of the labels and the existing layout, and we will check compatibility before you order.

How much does a used Allsteel workstation cost?

Pricing depends on the specific product and grade, so we quote each project. As a benchmark, our 6' x 6' workstation, furniture only, is $615 liquidation-grade, $1,245 remanufactured and $1,920 new. Prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation.

How fast can I get used Allsteel furniture?

In-stock liquidation-grade pieces can be ready in as little as 72 hours. Remanufactured furniture usually takes 7 to 14 days, and new runs 4 to 6 weeks. Availability of specific Allsteel models changes as inventory comes in, so confirm before you plan around one product.
