Pre-owned furniture for health spaces

Healthcare Office Furniture for Clinics and Medical Offices

Clinics and medical admin offices need furniture that holds up to long shifts and constant use. We supply pre-owned seating and workstations with clear condition grades, so you know exactly what you are putting in front of staff and patients.

Pre-owned office workstations

Healthcare office furniture has a harder job than furniture in a typical office. A front desk chair in a busy clinic may be used across overlapping shifts. Billing and scheduling teams sit through long, phone-heavy days. Waiting areas see steady traffic and frequent cleaning. Buying pre-owned lets you put durable, commercial-grade seating and workstations from brands like Steelcase, Herman Miller, Haworth, Humanscale and Allsteel into those spaces for well under new pricing.

We focus on the office side of healthcare: reception, administration, billing, records, staff offices and break areas. We do not sell exam tables, procedure seating or medical equipment.

Furniture by clinic zone

Most clinics and medical offices break into a few distinct zones. Each has different priorities.

Seating for clinical and admin staff

Staff comfort is not a luxury in healthcare. People who sit for long shifts need real adjustability.

  • Seat height and depth adjustment so staff of different sizes can share a chair across shifts.
  • Adjustable arms that drop low enough to slide under a desk or counter.
  • Drafting-height options for staff who work at a raised check-in counter.
  • Casters suited to the floor. Hard floors and carpet call for different casters, and the wrong ones make chairs roll or drag.

Pre-owned designer task chairs are among the best values available. See current options on our pre-owned office chairs page.

Materials and cleaning: what to check

We do not make claims about how any piece performs under a specific disinfection protocol. What we can do is tell you the material on every item and help you check it against your own requirements.

  1. Start with your facility's policy. Your infection prevention or environmental services guidance defines which surfaces need what cleaning.
  2. Identify the material. Mesh, vinyl, polyurethane, coated fabrics and standard textiles all behave differently with cleaning products.
  3. Check the manufacturer's care guidance for that material against the products your team actually uses.
  4. Inspect the condition grade. Seams, arm caps and seat edges are where wear shows first. Ask about them on any upholstered piece.
  5. Keep patient-facing seating simple. Fewer seams and crevices generally make cleaning easier.

Workstations for medical admin teams

Billing, coding, scheduling and records teams often handle calls and sensitive information all day. Panel workstations give them more acoustic separation and screen privacy than open desks. Taller panels near patient paths help keep monitors out of view.

A 6' x 6' workstation costs, furniture only:

  • Liquidation-grade: $615, in as little as 72 hours when in stock
  • Remanufactured: $1,245, usually 7 to 14 days
  • New: $1,920, typically 4 to 6 weeks

Prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation. Installation is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum. Volume pricing is 5% off at 20 or more stations, 8% at 50 or more and 12% at 100 or more, which matters for larger central billing offices.

Opening or expanding on a deadline

New clinics and expansions often have fixed dates tied to licensing, staffing and patient scheduling. Furniture should not be the item that slips. Lead time is where pre-owned has a clear edge: in-stock liquidation-grade furniture can be ready in days, while new product runs 4 to 6 weeks.

Our free space planning lays out reception, admin and office zones with pricing and lead times attached. Greater Phoenix delivery is $195 central or $295 metro, and freight to other locations is quoted per project.

Healthcare office furniture checklist

  • Floor plan with reception counter height and waiting area dimensions
  • Staff count per shift for shared chairs
  • Your facility's cleaning requirements for seating and work surfaces
  • Rooms where screens must stay out of patient view
  • Locking storage needs for administrative areas
  • Installation windows that avoid patient hours
  • Required ready date

Consolidating or closing a medical office

When a practice consolidates locations or moves, the office furniture left behind can have resale value. We provide a written net offer, which is the resale value minus removal cost, and handle e-waste with certificates of data destruction. That matters for offices that had computers and devices on site. Learn more about office decommissioning.

Tell us about your clinic, the zones you are furnishing and your opening date. We will send graded options that fit.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell exam tables or clinical equipment?

No. We focus on office furniture: task seating, guest and waiting seating, workstations, desks and storage for the business side of healthcare. Exam tables, procedure chairs and medical equipment should come from a medical equipment supplier.

How do I know if pre-owned upholstery works for my facility?

Start with your facility's infection prevention or cleaning policy, which defines the surfaces and cleaning products you use. Then ask us the material on each piece you are considering, such as mesh, vinyl, polyurethane or fabric, and confirm cleaning compatibility against the manufacturer's care guidance before you order.

What do the condition grades mean?

Grade A is like new, Grade B is very good and Grade C is good. Many clinics choose Grade A or B for patient-facing areas and consider Grade C for back-office rooms where appearance matters less. We share the grade for each piece before you buy.

Do manufacturer warranties apply to pre-owned furniture?

Generally no. Office Station is an independent reseller, not an authorized dealer, and manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. Grading and a clear description of each item are how we set expectations.

Can you install furniture outside of clinic hours?

Tell us your schedule and building rules during planning. Installation is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum, and we plan the timing around the hours and access rules you give us. For office exits and moves, night and weekend crews are available.
