Haworth Premise is a panel-based workstation system that shows up regularly on the pre-owned market. If you are shopping for used Haworth Premise, the good news is that panel systems are built to be disassembled and rebuilt. The catch is that the layout the furniture came out of is almost never the layout you need.

How reconfiguration works
A reconfiguration project starts with your space, not the furniture. Here is the typical sequence.
- Measure and document. Send a floor plan or wall-to-wall dimensions, column locations, window lines and where power and data come into the space.
- Set the program. Decide headcount, station size, panel height preferences and how much storage each person needs.
- Draw the layout. A space plan arranges runs, clusters or rows, with clear aisles and room for growth.
- Build the parts list. The plan converts into panel widths and heights, connectors, work surfaces, supports, storage and trim.
- Match to inventory. The parts list is matched against graded pre-owned stock, and gaps are flagged before you commit.
- Install and connect. The crew builds the stations, and your licensed electrician verifies and connects any powered panels.

Condition grades on used Premise
Grades describe how each piece looks and works today. On a reconfiguration, you can place higher-grade components where they are most visible.
- A, like new. Little or no visible wear. Good for reception-adjacent rows and client-facing teams.
- B, very good. Light cosmetic wear, fully functional. The everyday choice for most open office areas.
- C, good. Visible wear, structurally sound. Suited to interior rows, storage areas and budget-first projects.
Manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. Inspect a sample of panels, surfaces and storage before a large order, paying attention to fabric at chair height, laminate edges, drawer slides and locks.
What a reconfigured Premise project costs
For a baseline, a standard 6x6 workstation, furniture only, is $615 liquidation-grade, $1,245 remanufactured or $1,920 new. Those prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation.

Note the installation minimum on small jobs. Four stations at $95 each would be $380, so the $495 minimum applies. At six stations, installation is $570.
Timing your project
Liquidation-grade stock can be ready in as little as 72 hours when in stock. Remanufactured furniture usually takes 7 to 14 days, and new furniture typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. On a reconfiguration, build in time for the space plan and parts match before those clocks start. If a move-in date is fixed, share it on the first call so the plan can work backward from it.
What to have ready for the first call
- A floor plan, or dimensions with column and window locations marked.
- Current and planned headcount, including expected growth over the next year.
- Preferred station size and panel height, or the privacy level you want.
- Where power and data enter the space, and whether your electrician is lined up.
- Building rules for deliveries, such as dock hours, freight elevator reservations or after-hours work.
- Photos of any Premise components you plan to reuse.
Reconfiguring Premise you already own
You may not need to buy a full layout. If your office already has Premise and your team or floor plan has changed, the space plan can reuse your existing components and fill only the gaps with pre-owned parts.
