The front office is the first thing parents see. The faculty workroom is where teachers grade, plan and take a breath. The district office is where payroll, enrollment and transportation run every day. These spaces work hard, and they are often the last in line when furniture budgets get divided up.
Pre-owned office furniture is a practical way to close that gap. You get commercial-grade pieces built to last in busy offices, at prices that fit school and district budgets.
Education spaces we outfit
Office Station supplies office furniture, so we fit the administrative and staff side of education:
- Front offices and reception. Workstations for attendance and registrar staff, plus guest seating.
- Counseling and nurse offices. Private desks with storage and panels that give confidential conversations some separation.
- Faculty workrooms and teacher lounges. Shared tables, task chairs and storage.
- District and campus administration. Full floors of cubicles for business services, HR, IT and enrollment teams.
- Higher education departments. Department offices, advising centers and graduate assistant workspaces.
What school office furniture costs
Workstations are usually the biggest line item in a staff space. Here is what a standard 6x6 workstation costs, furniture only, across our three tiers:
| Tier | Per station | 20 stations (5% off) | 50 stations (8% off) | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Liquidation-grade | $615 | $11,685 | $28,290 | As little as 72 hours, in stock |
| Remanufactured | $1,245 | $23,655 | $57,270 | Usually 7 to 14 days |
| New | $1,920 | $36,480 | $88,320 | 4 to 6 weeks |
Average market rate Prices subject to availability and project pricing.
Prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation. Installation is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum. Greater Phoenix delivery is $195 central or $295 metro, and freight to other locations nationwide is quoted per project. Orders of 100 or more stations qualify for 12% off.
For a district outfitting 50 admin stations, choosing liquidation-grade over new saves roughly $60,000 on furniture alone. That is money that can go back to classrooms.

Choosing the right tier for each room
You do not need the same tier everywhere. A smart mix stretches the budget further:
- Visible, public spaces like the main reception desk may justify remanufactured stations or grade A pieces, since they shape first impressions.
- Back-office areas like records rooms, IT workbenches and transportation offices are a great fit for liquidation-grade furniture in grade B or C condition.
- Seating is where comfort matters most for staff who sit all day. Browse pre-owned office chairs from brands like Steelcase, Herman Miller, Humanscale and Haworth.
Condition grades are simple: A is like new, B is very good and C is good. Ask for the grade on each item in your quote so you know what to expect.
Features that matter in school offices
Staff spaces in schools have a few needs that general offices do not always share. Keep these in mind when you pick specific pieces:
- Locking storage. Front office and counseling staff handle student records, medication logs and confidential notes. Look for lockable pedestals and lateral files, and test every lock before the furniture goes into service.
- Sightlines at reception. Attendance and security staff often need to see the entrance. Lower panels or a transaction counter keep the door in view while still giving each person a defined workspace.
- Durable surfaces. Laminate worksurfaces hold up well to heavy daily use and are easy to clean, which matters in shared workrooms.
- Adjustable seating. A staff chair may be used by several people across shifts and school years. Height, seat depth and arm adjustments help it fit more of them.
- Shared tables that reconfigure. Faculty workrooms get used for grading, planning periods, parent meetings and professional development. Tables that can be pushed together or pulled apart earn their space.
Planning around the school calendar
The biggest challenge with school projects is timing. Staff areas are in use nearly year-round, and installs are easiest when buildings are quiet. Work backward from your install window:
- Measure early. Send floor plans or room dimensions. Space planning is free.
- Get approvals moving. Build in time for board or purchasing sign-off.
- Pick tiers by deadline. If your window is a week away, liquidation-grade in-stock furniture is the realistic option. Remanufactured stations need about two weeks, and new needs 4 to 6.
- Schedule installation. Confirm building access, dock or elevator use and who will be on site.
- Handle electrical separately. Powered panels still need a licensed electrician to connect to building power, and that work is not included in furniture pricing.
What to do with the old furniture
Upgrading a district office or closing an administrative building leaves a lot of furniture behind. In our liquidation markets across the Southwest, Office Station can provide a written net offer: the resale value of the furniture minus the removal cost. If that figure is positive, you are paid for it.
Projects include an itemized inventory, e-waste handling with certificates of data destruction for old computers, photo-documented broom-clean handback and a diversion summary showing what was kept out of the landfill. That paperwork can be helpful when your board or facilities department asks where surplus went. Learn more about office furniture liquidation or decommissioning a full building.

Frequently asked questions
Do you sell classroom furniture?
Office Station focuses on office furniture: workstations, desks, seating, storage and similar pieces for administrative and staff spaces. That covers front offices, counseling suites, faculty workrooms and district or campus administration buildings. For student classroom furniture, you will want a specialist in that category.
How does volume pricing work for a school or district?
Volume pricing applies to workstation orders: 5% off at 20 or more stations, 8% at 50 or more and 12% at 100 or more. Grouping several schools or departments into a single order is one way to reach a higher tier.
Can furniture be installed while school is out?
Timing is worth planning early. Liquidation-grade stations can be ready in as little as 72 hours when in stock, and remanufactured stations usually take 7 to 14 days, so a summer or winter break install is realistic. Email hello@officestation.com with your dates so we can plan around them.
Is pre-owned furniture covered by the manufacturer warranty?
Generally no. Office Station is an independent reseller of brands like Steelcase, Herman Miller and Haworth, not an authorized dealer, and manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture. Condition grades A, B and C tell you exactly what to expect before you buy.
Can you take our old furniture when we upgrade?
Yes, in our liquidation markets. We provide a written net offer, which is the resale value minus removal cost, along with an itemized inventory and a diversion summary. Your purchasing office will want to confirm how your surplus property rules apply first.
