Size the room in five steps
- Count peak users. Figure out how many people are in the room at the busiest lunch hour, not the total headcount.
- Allow table edge per person. Plan roughly 24 inches of edge for each seated person.
- Leave room behind chairs. People need space to pull out a chair and for others to walk past.
- Keep appliance zones clear. Refrigerators, microwaves and coffee stations draw lines. Keep tables out of that queue.
- Check accessibility. Include at least one table a wheelchair user can pull up to comfortably, and confirm requirements with your building team.

Table prices depend on size, base and top material, so we quote them with your order. To give you a sense of how the tiers relate, a 6'x6' workstation, furniture only, is $615 liquidation-grade, $1,245 remanufactured and $1,920 new.
Pre-owned tables carry a condition grade: A like new, B very good, C good. Grade B and C tables are often a sensible fit for breakrooms, where some wear is expected anyway. We sell pre-owned designer lines, including Steelcase, Herman Miller, Knoll, Haworth, Kimball and Friant, as an independent reseller, not an authorized dealer, and manufacturer warranties generally do not transfer to pre-owned furniture.

Furniture prices exclude electrical, delivery and professional installation, so those appear as their own lines on your quote. Most breakroom tables need only simple base attachment, but we can quote installation if you want the room set up for you. Workstation installation, for reference, is $95 per workstation with a $495 minimum.
Choosing a tabletop material
The top takes most of the wear, so it deserves as much thought as the shape.
- High-pressure laminate. The workhorse choice. It stands up to spills, cleaning sprays and daily wiping, and it comes in wood looks and solid colors.
- Solid surface or stone look. A more upscale cafe feel. Heavier, so check the base is rated for the top.
- Wood veneer. Attractive, but less forgiving of wet cups and hot dishes. Better suited to a lightly used lounge than a busy lunch room.
Whatever you pick, a darker or patterned finish hides wear longer than a bright solid color.
