Office furniture liquidation sounds simple until you are the one with a lease end date, a floor full of cubicles and a landlord who wants the space back in broom-clean condition. This FAQ gives you straight answers, organized by what you are trying to do.
Selling and liquidating furniture
How does office furniture liquidation work?
You request a walkthrough. Office Station reviews the furniture on site, then sends you a written net offer. If you accept, a crew removes the furniture on a schedule that works for your building, and you get the space back clean with documentation.
What exactly is a net offer?
A net offer is the resale value of your furniture minus the cost to remove it. When the furniture is worth more than the removal, the number is positive and you are paid. When removal costs more, the offer tells you the amount you would owe. Either way, you see the math in writing before anything moves.
What makes a net offer go up or down?
- Brand and model: Designer lines such as Herman Miller, Steelcase, Knoll, Haworth and Teknion tend to have stronger resale demand.
- Condition: Clean, complete, working furniture is worth more.
- Quantity and consistency: Matching sets of workstations and chairs resell more easily than mixed one-offs.
- Access: Freight elevators, dock availability, floor level and building rules all affect removal labor.
- Timeline: A tight deadline can add crew hours.
You can get a rough idea before a walkthrough with the liquidation estimator.
How quickly can you get here?
Walkthroughs are typically within 48 hours in Greater Phoenix and 2 to 3 business days in other markets. Written offers follow within 5 business days.
Where do you offer liquidation?
Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Reno, San Diego, Orange County, Northern California (Bay Area and Sacramento), Denver, Salt Lake City and Albuquerque. Each market has its own page, such as Phoenix office furniture liquidation.
What if my furniture is not a designer brand?
You can still request a walkthrough. The net offer simply reflects what the furniture can realistically resell for, minus what it costs to remove. Lower resale value can mean a smaller offer or a removal cost you pay, but you see that number in writing before you decide, which beats discovering it the week your lease ends.
Do I have to accept the offer?
The written offer is there so you can make a decision with real numbers. Compare it against your timeline, your building's move-out requirements and any other plans you have for the furniture.
Decommissioning and move-out logistics
Can your crews work after hours?
Yes. Night and weekend crews are available so removal does not disrupt tenants or your remaining staff.
Will you handle building requirements?
Office Station provides certificates of insurance (COIs) and coordinates freight elevator reservations and dock time with property management.
What documentation do I get?
- An itemized inventory of what was removed
- Certificates of data destruction for e-waste
- A photo-documented broom-clean handback
- A diversion summary showing where materials went
